This weekend is another year of Coachella and instead of being there I’m here streaming Coachella Live on YouTube Land…*sigh*
Happy Easter Everyone! This holiday is an excuse for me to decorate some eggs! I emptied the inside first and made some breakfast burrito for my brother and I. I didn’t have any food coloring so I just painted them with some acrylic paint which I already had out on the table. I liked brushing pastel colors and dabbing tiny shapes onto the egg shells. They are so white and delicate and so cute to hold in my hand. I felt like I was in elementary school again!
My brother and I went to Alameda Point Antiques Faire this month. This was by far the biggest vintage fair I have ever been to. They have it once every month and it is outdoor so you can enjoy the beautiful San Francisco view. They have everything that you can think of…it’s pretty overwhelmingly amazing.
I bought this necklace at a thrift store called Value Village when I was still living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. That makes it about 9 years old since this baby became mine. But that doesn’t mean I have been wearing it for 9 years! It has been hanging around for years. I absolutely love the center piece. It is made out of metal and the shape and pattern makes a bold statement piece for an outfit. This necklace has been shouting eighties in my face and i haven’t worn it for a really long time. I want to bring this baby back into my life and make it into something more my style. So I thought it is time for a makeover!
I’m not a fan of sunshine yellow when it comes to clothing and jewelry. I just don’t think it flatters my body and my skin. I was debating for a while if I wanted to replace the yellow with neon green or black. I thought I would go for the black ’cause I think it looks best with the white and gold. I took some black acrylic paint and a fine tip brush to apply on top of the yellow.
The acrylic paint gives a matte finish and I want it to be glossy to match up with the overall piece. So I used a clear nail polish and applied it over the black with a brush.
I wanted a suede string to tie around my neck with it, but I didn’t really want to purchase anything, so I found this black shoe lace and that worked perfectly well. I love this! It’s black, it’s shiny, and it’s my style! I can’t wait to wear this underneath my collar shirts.
I bought this Luchador Wrapping Paper designed and letterpressed by Viva Greetings. I knew I had to hang it up in my toilet room. I saved this wooden frame from being dumped into a dumpster and I thought I can spice it up a bit with painted colorful stripes all around to go with the paper!
